استخدمت الحلبة تحفيز عملية الولادة و لتحفيز وظيفة المثانة و كمرهم و ملطف و تستخدم لعلاج الدمامل و الجروح. و استخدم خليط مسحوق البذور مع الماء لعلاج داء السكري و تحسين الشهية و كمهدىء و لعلاج ارتفاع السكر في الدم. و تستخدم كتقوية و اعتبرت النبتة مفيدة في تقوية الجسم و تنظيف المعدة بعد الولادة، كما قيل أنها تحسن الشية و تمنع الامساك.
